Teddy ParsanoTeddy Mac Parsano, 79, of Rushville died at 1:45 p.m. June 9, 2017, at his home.

He was born Jan. 8, 1938, in Rushville, a son of Harley and Ada Chockley Parsano Sr.

Surviving are his longtime buddy Steve Campbell of Rushville; the children of his longtime companion, Helen Kelly: Jeanie (and Bud) Kirkham of Camden, Joyce Stambaugh of Astoria, Jim (and Pam) Kelly and Jack (and Dixie) Kelly, all of Camden; and Helen’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; longtime companion, Helen Kelly; her son, Jerry Kelly; her two grandchildren, Scott Kelly and Cindy Mangold; two brothers, Harley “Parsie” Parsano Jr. and George Parsano; and three sisters, Frances Young, Ida Mae Anderson and Jenny Emery.

He served as a cook in the U.S. Navy, from 1956 until retiring in 1976. He then worked as a machine operator at NTN Bower in Macomb for 20 years retiring in February of 1999.

He was a member of the Schuyler American Legion Post #4 and the White Hat CB Club.

Services were held Tuesday at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with David Haney officiating. Burial was in the Rushville City Cemetery with military rites by the U.S. Navy Honors Detail and the Schuyler American Legion Post #4.

Memorials may be made to Culbertson Memorial Hospital Foundation or the Big Buddy Program in Rushville.
