Twila E. Pelton, 87, of Canton, formerly of Wataga, died at 6:10 a.m. March 5, 2016, at Renaissance Care Center in Canton.
She was born Sept. 1, 1928, in Abingdon, the daughter of Ray and Essie Lawver McDonald. She married Jim Shineberger on Sept. 14, 1949, in Kahoka, Mo. He preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 1954. She then married Roy E. Rhinberger on Oct. 21, 1955, in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 1966. She then married Warren M. Pelton on Aug. 12, 1974, in the state of Tennessee. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1982.
Surviving are one son, Roylee E. (and Melanie) Rhinberger of Astoria; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was owner and operator of the Adair Café for many years. She also was a CNA at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg in the 1970s and was a retired homemaker.
Graveside services were held Tuesday at the Summum Cemetery with Pastor Randy Munson officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
