Clifford ParryClifford W. Parry, 87, of Astoria died at 2:19 p.m. Sept. 9, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

He was born June 6, 1927, in Astoria, a son of Jesse and Ada Danner Parry. He married Glenna Palmer on Feb. 9, 1947, in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Sherry (and David) Parsano of Adair and Tammy (and Anthony) Baldry of Lewistown; six grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Willis, Roy, Dennis and Jesse Jr.; and one sister, Frances Bushnell.

He was a farmer, logger for Pekin Hardwood, owner and operator of Parry Brothers Sawmill and Cliffs Auto Parts, both in Astoria. He worked for Krotti Brothers in Moline, Havana Power Plant, Ken-Ray Foundry in Vermont and American Thermos in Macomb. He was mechanic, truck driver, carpenter and pastor at Assembly of God Church.

He was in the U.S. Navy, serving from May to Aug. 1945 as an Apprentice Seaman.

He was a member of Assembly of God Church, American Handyman Club and American Hunting Club.

Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Brandon Llewellyn officiating.

Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
