Keith D. Peak, 76, of Table Grove died at 11:35 a.m. Sept. 28, 2006, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born Dec. 8, 1929, in McDonough County, a son of Fred and Sylvia Wilhelm Peak. He married Neva Warrington on Dec. 31, 1950, in Doddsville. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Julie (and Mitch) Doherty and Suzy (and Dave) Ross, both of Wever, Iowa; special friend, Robert Skien, whom he thought of as a son; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Dale Peak; and two brothers in infancy.

He was an Army veteran, serving during the Korean War.

He lived his early life in the Industry area before moving to Table Grove in 1952. He was manager of McDonough County FS in Adair and Bushnell, retiring in 1991.

He was a member of Table Grove American Legion for 55 years, Macomb VFW and Macomb Elks. He was a volunteer fireman in Table Grove for 45 years and fire chief in Adair for many years.

He also served on the Mid Century Telephone Board, was a village trustee in Table Grove for 18 years, coached girls softball for many years, was an active donor for Red Cross Blood Bank and was active in the Table Grove community.

Services were held Monday at Table Grove Community Church with Rev. Greg Miller officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb. Military rites were conducted at the cemetery by Table Grove American Legion and Macomb VFW. Clugston-Tibbits Funeral Home in Macomb was in charge of arrangements.
