Neva L. Peak, 87, of Ft. Madison, formerly of Table Grove, died July 28, 2017, at 8:45 p.m. at her home.Neva L. Peak, 87, of Ft. Madison, formerly of Table Grove, died July 28, 2017, at 8:45 p.m. at her home.
She was born Oct. 28, 1929, in Doddsville, the daughter of Henry and Faire Prather Warrington. She married Keith Peak on Dec. 31, 1950, in Doddsville. He preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 2006.
She also was preceded in death by her twin brother at birth; one brother, Dr. Willard Warrington; and one nephew.
Surviving are two daughters, Julie (and Mitch) Doherty and Suzy (and Dave) Ross, both of Wever; five grandchildren, Derek (and Amy) Doherty, Kyle (and Brittany) Doherty and Kelsie Doherty, all of Ft. Madison, Luke Ross of Danville and Libby (and Matt) Ross of Ft. Madison; and three great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Ft. Madison Christian Church. She was an avid volunteer for many organizations and committees in Table Grove and Ft. Madison and won Volunteer of the Year in both towns.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at her church with Rev. Mike McHugh officiating. Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service at 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Macomb on Wednesday. King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory in Fort Madison, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial has been established for Christmas for Kids.
