Carroll ParkerCarroll L. Parker, 71, of Astoria died at 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2003, at his residence.

He was born July 10, 1932, in Vermont Township, the son of Lloyd and Margaret Maye Bair Parker. He married Nelda Schisler on July 10, 1954, in Summum. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Greg (and Debby) of Hurst, Gerry (and Teresa) of Bath and Gale (and Georgia Faye) of Astoria; two sisters, Vera Miner and Marlene (and Russ) Robison, both of Washington; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Geff.

He was a Korean War Navy veteran and a member of Carroll Rankin American Legion Post 26 in Vermont.

He was a lifelong farmer and an Independent Insurance agent for 34 years.

He was a member of Vermont Masonic Lodge 116 AF&AM and Ipava Order of the Eastern Star 226.

He was a member of Central Christian Church in Browning, where services will be at 11 a.m. today with Rev. Ray Artrip and Rev. Jeff Moore officiating. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to his church.
