Mrs. Mable Parr Dies In Hospital

Mrs. Mable Parr, 72, of Astoria, died at 12:25 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 1979, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

Born Sept. 19, 1907, in Astoria, she was a daughter of Joseph and Eva Ely Peek. She married Floyd Parr July 17, 1926, in Havana. He died Sept. 11, 1957.

Surviving are three sons, Stanley of Danville, Dale of Lewistown and Ronnie of Canton; eight daughters, Mrs. Norma Bowen of Vermont, Mrs. Emily Ayoub of Peoria, Mrs. Juanita Edwards of Bartonville, Mrs. Thelma Taylor and Miss Sandra Parr, both of Rushville, Mrs. Linda Kelly of Danvers, Sue Parr of Astoria and Connie Parr of Sunrise Beach, Mo.; 27 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Gladys Bollinger of Canton, Mrs. Helen Bollinger and Miss Zenita Peek, both of Astoria.

She was preceded in death by one daughter and one brother.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Bruce Parr officiating. Burial was in the Summum Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Betty J. Coats Memorial Fund in care of Western Illinois University, Macomb.
