Elzie L. Parr Dies, Services Thursday

Elzie Lloyd Parr of Vermont died about 8:30 p.m. Monday in St. Francis hospital where he had been a patient four days. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Methodist church in Vermont. The Rev. Paul Lee of Table Grove will officiate and burial will be in Vermont Cemetery. Masonic rites will be conducted.

Mr. Parr was born Sept. 19, 1897 in Summum, the son of Isaac and Mary Carter Parr. He married Lula Jones in Lewistown July 31, 1920.

He was a member of the Vermont Methodist Church, the Peoria Consistory, and the Vermont Chamber of Commerce. At the time of his death he was serving as worthy patron of the Order of Eastern Star. He was past master of the Vermont Masonic Lodge. He was the last surviving member of his family, and for the past 20 years had operated a lumber business in Vermont.

Surviving are his widow, a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Baker and a son, Rodney, both of Vermont; and eight grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Kost Memorial Home in Vermont until 11 a.m. Thursday and then at the church. Visitation with the family will be from 7 to 9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
