Dortha L. Oest, 87, of Astoria died at 10:01 p.m. Feb. 20, 2013, at Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was born June 23, 1925, in Bluff City, a daughter of John and Nettie Curless Slaight. She married Edward Oest on June 23, 1942, in Palmyra, Mo. He preceded her in death in August of 1986.
She also was preceded in death by one sister, Verle Masten; and one brother, Onilee Reeves.
Surviving are one daughter, Linda Oest of Astoria; two sons, Richard Oest of Astoria and Edwin (and Nancy) Oest of Havana; five grandchildren; one step grandchild; and four great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker.
She was an assessor for 25 years for several townships in Fulton County.
Services were held Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Wayne Curless officiating. Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery in Astoria.
