Richard J. Oest, 66, of Astoria died at 12:09 a.m. May 24, 2015, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital ER in Rushville.
He was born Jan. 9, 1949, a son of Edward and Dortha Slaight Oest.
Surviving are two daughters, Rochelle (and Chad) Sappington of Canton and Jill (and Kyle) Easley of Astoria; one brother, Edwin (and Nancy) Oest; one sister, Linda Oest of Astoria; two grandchildren; and three nephews.
He worked at Fiat-Allis Proving Grounds in Astoria, then he farmed.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Astoria with Pastor Josh Clevenger officiating. Visitation will be held from 10-10:45 a.m. Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria.
