He was born July 24, 1916, in Kerton Township, Fulton County, the son of Charles and Dora Lee Tippey Ogden. He married Leona F. Klinedinst on Aug. 26, 1941, in Hannibal, Mo. She preceded him in death on Aug. 11, 2009.
He also was preceded in death by one grandson, William Ogden.
Surviving are two daughters, Karen Tucker of Burlington, Iowa, and Judith (and Skip) Hardesty of Middlegrove; three sons, William (and Connie) Ogden of Havana, Robert (and Judy) Ogden of Ipava and Charles (and Julie) Ogden of Colfax; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He worked at Caterpillar in East Peoria for 22 1/2 years, retiring in 1978.
He was a member of UAW Local 974 of East Peoria and Good Sam Camping Club.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Ray Greenfield and Pastor Kevin Kessler officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Astoria.
