Frances Brockley Neice, 101, formerly of Vermont, died at 1 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1998, at Wesley Village Health Care Center in Macomb.
She was born Feb. 3, 1897, in rural Vermont, a daughter of William and Clara Kelly Brockley. She married Claude Neice on March 21, 1964. He died Oct. 16, 1985. She also was preceded in death by one stepdaughter, Evelyn Belknap, and three sisters.
Surviving are two brothers, Leonard Brockley of Vermont and Kenneth Brockley of Astoria; one stepgrandaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
She taught in country schools in rural Fulton County and later held various positions in the Galesburg schools. A graduate of Western Illinois State Teachers College, she was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She and her husband were the first residents to move into Wesley Village in Macomb in 1979. She was a member of First Christian Church in Macomb.
Services wil be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Kost Memorial Home in Vermont, where visitation will be one hour before services. Rev. David Pease will officiate. Burial will be in Vermont Cemetery.
