Velma B. Miller, 94, of Athens, formerly of Browning, died at 7:45 p.m. June 5, 2020, at her home.Velma B. Miller, 94, of Athens, formerly of Browning, died at 7:45 p.m. June 5, 2020, at her home.
She was born April 16, 1926, in Chapin, a daughter of Henry and Georgia Rigor Schall. She married Edwin Christy Miller Sr. on Sept. 11, 1946, in Beardstown. He preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 1997.
She also was preceded in death by one son, Gregory Miller; two sisters, Marion Davison and Betty Macfee; and one brother, Henry Schall.
Surviving are one son, Edwin Jr. “Deuce” (and Linda) Miller of Browning; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and multiple great-great-grandchildren.
She was a housewife.
She was a member of Athens Christian Church.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mud Valley Cemetery in Browning with Pastor Ken Gennicks officiating. There will be no visitation. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
