Adam Maliongas

Adam Tyler Maliongas, 31, of Rushville died at 3:54 p.m. April 2, 2016, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born July 24, 1984, in Macomb, a son of Monte L. and Elizabeth Owen Maliongas. He married Stephanie Hood on Oct. 20, 2007, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are four children, Cody (and Jaymee) Morris, Abigail Morris (and fiancée Todd Zeisler), Alex Kellerman and Jakob Maliongas, all of Rushville; his father, Monte L. (and Annie) Maliongas of Cantrall; his mother, Elizabeth (and Jon) Ingles of Camden; grandparents, James and Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Owen and Ozzie and Karen Maliongas, all of Rushville; step grandmother, Ruby Ragon of Bushnell; one brother, Louis (and Samantha) Maliongas of Rushville; four stepbrothers, Eric Ingles and Tony Ingles, both of Godfrey, and Andy (and Daphne) Ingles and Zack Ingles, both of Camden; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one uncle, Richard “Rick” Owen.

He was a 2003 graduate of Rushville High School. He and Todd Zeisler began Backwoods Logging in 2011. Adam and Stephanie opened the Brick Street Grill on his birthday in 2015.

He was a captain of the Scripps Park Wednesday Night Men’s Golf League and played in tournaments. He coached his son Jakob’s T-ball team.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Reverend John Sowers officiating. Burial will follow in the Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to an education fund for his son Jakob.
