Willis P. McCombs, 71, of Browning, died at 3:40 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, 1995, at Snyder’s Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home in Rushville.

He was born Jan. 15, 1924, in Browning, a son of Charles Taylor and Bessie Mercer McCombs.

Surviving are one sister, Blanche Phillips of Rushville; two nieces, Carole Buck of Rushville and Phyllis Scalf of Tremont; and two nephews, Loren McCombs and Roger McCombs, both of Lewistown.

He was preceded in death by five brothers.

He worked in construction and farmed in the Browning area. He was a medic in the Army from March 16, 1943, to Feb. 19, 1946.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Wood-Roby Funeral Chapel in Rushville with Collis Trone officiating. Burial will be in Browning Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by Schuyler American Legion Post 4.
