Loren McCombs

Loren D. McCombs, 70, of Lewistown died at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2005, at Graham Hospital Extended Care in Canton.

He was born Oct. 1, 1934, in Browning, a son of Roy and Pauline (Long) McCombs. He married Ruth Shaw on Nov. 22, 1980, in Lewistown. She survives.

Also surviving are six sons, Steve of Springfield, Darrell (and Lou) of Pinckneyville, David and Doug (and Marie) of Cuba, Todd of Pekin, and Chris (and Audrey) Carlin of Bryant; two daughters, Laura (and Allen) Tippey of Lewistown and Pamela (and Rod) Beaird of Ipava; one brother, Roger (and Jennifer) of Lewistown; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister.

He retired from the Mossville plant of Caterpillar Inc.

He was a member of United Auto Workers.

He was a member of Lewistown Lodge 104 AF&AM, Peoria Scottish Rite Bodies, Mohammed Temple Shrine, and was a past worthy patron of Lewistown Eastern Star. He was a former Lewistown High School board member and coached Little League Baseball for many years.

He was a member of Crossroads Free Methodist Church in Lewistown.

Services were held Monday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Rev. Martin Janicke officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown.
