Gus LashbrookGus A. “Bud” Lashbrook, 74, of Rushville died at 2:10 p.m. June 25, 2022, at his residence.

He was born May 26, 1948, in Rushville, a son of Richard Carl and Violet May Lashbrook. He married Marsha Ward on July 30, 1971, in Pleasant View. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Eric Lashbrook of Rushville and Luke (and Ruth) Lashbrook of Phoenix, Ariz.; one brother, Richard Earl Lashbrook of Springfield; two sisters, Carolyn (and Butch) Donithan of Oklahoma and Mary Ellen (and Dale) Root of Rushville.

He was a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He distinguished himself during a firefight in DaNang and was presented a Bronze Star for his heroic act, which saved a wounded companion.

Cremation has been accorded. Funeral Military Honors will be held at 11 a.m. Friday by Schuyler American Legion Post #4 and a U.S. Marine Corp Honors Detail at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service on Friday.
