She was born June 26, 1929, in Bluff City, the daughter of William Jennings “WJ” and Inez M. Stambaugh Palmer. She married Dwayne D. “Boon” Lawver on Sept. 3, 1953, in Astoria. He preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 2013.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell and Robert Palmer.
Surviving are one son, James Lawver of Peoria; one daughter, Carol (and Zach) Schumm of Trophy Club, Texas; four grandchildren, Mandy (and Jon) Greathouse, Lucas (and Jennifer) Lawver, Bailey Schumm and Madison Schumm; and three great-grandchildren.
She was a cook at Astoria Schools for many years.
She was a member of Grace Bible Church in Astoria.
Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Ben Murray officiating. Burial was at South Fulton Cemetery in Astoria.
