Jack LerchJack Lavern Lerch, 69, of Rushville died at 4:55 a.m. Jan. 17, 2015, at his residence.

He was born March 10, 1945, in Oakland Township, Schuyler County, a son of Marion “Mike” and Margaret Ruth Bradbury Lerch. He married Mary Grenlund on March 12, 1966, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are four daughters, Kathy Calder of Houston, Texas, Juanina Lerch of Coweta, Okla., Jennifer Lerch (and John)Winder of Ipava and Andrea Lerch (and Corey Ingles) Mellor of Rushville; one son, Donald (and Debbie Wenger) Hull of Rushville; one sister, Joan (and Steve) Stull of Raritan; three brothers, Marion “Bert” (and Karen) Lerch of Beardstown, William Carl (and Donna) Lerch of Cuba and Don Lerch of Rushville; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Margaret Lerch and Betty Bowman Shepherd; and three brothers, Walter Livingston, Larry Joe Lerch and Robert Livingston.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam. He was employed at Oscar Meyer, Cassidy Roofing, self-employed wood cutter, Cargill and presently at Wal-Mart.

He was a member of Rushville Saddle Club from 1985-88.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Brandon Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery with Military Rites by U.S. Army Honors Detail and Schuyler American Legion Post.
