MAXINE L. (UTTER) HELM JETT LOUGHARY LOGAN

Maxine LoganMaxine L. Logan, 87, of Rushville died at 2:42 p.m. June 4, 2013, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

She was born June 29, 1925, in Columbus, Ill., the daughter of Melvin L. and Grace Park Smith Utter. She married Charles Helm, Austin Jett, Darrell Loughary and Edward Logan. They all preceded her in death.

She also was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Roberta Diane and Catherine Grace Jett; two grandsons; and one brother, Charles Richard Utter Jr.

Surviving are five children: Bob (and Kathy) Jett, Charlene (and Gene) Wise, Annie (and HO) Bader, all of Rushville, Lorrie (and Raymond) Anderson of Beardstown and Mary Silveus (and Leonard Jones) of Springfield; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; and one great-great-grandchild.

She worked in the Munitions Industry during World War II. She owned and operated Maxine's Country Kitchen. She worked as a CNA at Snyder Vaughn Haven Nursing Home, Myers Nursing Home and Culbertson Memorial Hospital. She last worked at Mary's Cafe in Rushville.

She was a founding member of PLAY.

Services were held Friday at Sugar Grove United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Granadosin and Barbara Wooldridge officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
