Harold LangHarold E. "Hack" Lang, 88, of Rushville died at 10:25 p.m. Nov. 7, 2011, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

He was born Oct. 1, 1923, in Browning Township, Schuyler County, a son of Bert and Hazel McMeins Lang. He married Mary Lucinda Sayrs on March 8, 1947, in Rushville. She preceded him in death on June 7, 2006.

He also was preceded in death by three brothers, Burton, Richard and Robert Lang.

Surviving are one son, Dennis Michael (and Carol) Lang of Havana; one former daughter-in-law, Pearl Mary (and Marlon) Magelitz of Rushville; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He worked at Mickelberry Packing Co. in Rushville, Bower Roller Bearing in Macomb and Oscar Meyer in Beardstown, until retiring in 1986.

He attended Rushville First Southern Baptist Church, was a member of Schuyler American Legion Post #4 and was a life member of VFW Post #19014 in Springfield.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Mike Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery where military services will be conducted by a U.S. Army Honors Detail, Schuyler American Legion Post #4 and Beardstown Guthrie Pierce VFW Post #1239. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services on Saturday.
