Mary LangMary Lucinda Sayrs Lang, 79, of Rushville died at 9:19 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

She was born May 22, 1927, in Astoria, a daughter of Clarence and Gertrude M. Baum Sayrs. She married Harold Lang on March 8, 1947, in Rushville. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Dennis Michael (and Carol) of Havana; two sisters, Clarice (and Bert) Gill of Enumclaw, Wash., and Sandra Armstrong of Rushville; four grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; one great-grandson; and two step-great-grandsons.

Preceding her in death was one sister, Shirley Sayrs.

She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church of Rushville, and was active in the Sunday school department, various church committees, and helping in the kitchen with church and funeral meals.

She cleaned homes for several Rushville residents and worked at Boehm's Garden Center, retiring in 1988. After retirement, she and her husband operated a woodworking and craft shop, where she did the painting and decorating.

Services were held Saturday at her church with Rev. Mike Hall officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery. Worthington Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
