He was born Nov. 7, 1923, in rural Ipava, a son of James D. and Grace Holmes LaRue. He married Betty Jane Hamm on June 22, 1947, in Lewistown. She died Jan. 22, 1996.
He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Harold.
Surviving are one daughter, Janis Blout of Lewistown; one sister, Wilma McFadden of Mesa, Ariz.; and three grandchildren.
He was a distributor for Kelly Food Products (potato chips) for over 20 years, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Lewistown.
Services were held Monday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Rev. Danie deBeer officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown.
