BETTY JANE (HAMM) LARUE

Betty LaRue

Betty J. LaRue, 70, of Lewistown, died at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria at 2:34 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22, 1996.

She was born on Oct. 20, 1925 at Vermont, the daughter of Ralph and Sadie Furniss Hamm. She married Robert LaRue at Lewistown on June 22, 1947. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Janis Blout of Lewistown; three grandchildren, Brianne, Terry and Jonathan Blout, all of Lewistown; one brother, Edward Hamm of Macomb; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

She was a legal secretary at Kost & Kost in Lewistown for 36 years and was working there on a part time basis at the time of her death. She was a member of the Lewistown United Presbyterian Church and the church choir. She was a charter member of the Fulton County Legal Secretaries Association and had served several terms as its president. She was a charter member of the Lewistown VFW Post 5001 Auxiliary. She was a patron of the Fulton County Playhouse and an avid bingo player.

Funeral services were held this morning at the Henry Memorial Home in Lewistown with Rev. Jack Pereboom officiating. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Lewistown.

Memorial contributions may be made to either the Lewistown United Presbyterian Church or to the Fulton County Playhouse.
