MAUDE (ROBERTSON) LEIGHTON

Maude Leighton

Maude Leighton, 93, of Canton died at 8:57 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, at Graham Hospital.

She was born June 16, 1910, in Browning, a daughter of Fred and Ethel McFetridge Robertson. She married Raymond Leighton on Sept. 7, 1929, in Rushville. He died in October 1984.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Raymond; two grandchildren; eight brothers and one sister.

Surviving are three daughters, Marilynn (and Grover) Herring of Aurora, Verna (and Dick) Vin Camp of Canton and Lois Leighton of Ocala; one brother, Keith Robertson of Browning; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was a 50-year member of Rebekah Lodge 425.

She also was a member of the Jolly Knitters and The Friendly 12 Club.

She was of the Methodist faith.

Services were held at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home with Rev. Rusty Beals officiating. Burial was in White Chapel Memory Gardens.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to any charity.
