Harriet L. Lewis, 72, of Summum, died at 11:33 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 1998, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
She was born July 9, 1926, in Rushville, a daughter of Jess and Gertrude Meyers Brooks. She married Merle L. Lewis on May 21, 1951, in Galesburg. He died June 8, 1998. One sister also preceded her in death.
Surviving are three sons, Bob Brooks of Dahinda, Sam Lewis of Summum and Jerry Lewis of Simms, Mont.; three daughters, Beverly Chidester of Fairmount, Ind., Annie Stambaugh of Astoria and Chris Wall of Astoria; one brother, Harold Brooks of Xenia, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sunday at Shawgo Memorial Home with Tim Worstell officiating. Burial was in Summum Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Astoria Fire and Rescue Squad.
