Mrs. Sarah Berniece Lockard, 63, of Rural Route, Ipava, died at 11:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 1973, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria following a year long illness.
Mrs. Lockard was born Sept. 18, 1910, in Quinter, Kans., a daughter of David S. and Ida Mae Mummert Baker. She married Ross Lockard on March 30, 1931, at Dixon. He survives.
She was a lifetime resident of the Summum area and a member of the Summum Christian Church and the U Go and I Go Club.
Other survivors include two sons, Aubrey P. Baker of Canton and Robert Eugene Lockard of Ipava; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday afternoon at the Summum Christian Church with Price Flannery, Jr. and Larry Manship officiating. Burial was in the Summum Cemetery.
