Mrs. Goldie Lutz Dies In Hospital

Mrs. Goldie Hartley Lutz, 81, died Monday afternoon in the Graham Hospital in Canton following an illness of about one month. She was a lifetime resident of the Astoria area.

Born April 1, 1885 in Astoria, she was the daughter of Preston and Augusta Hughes Prather. On March 11, 1905, she was married to George Hartley who preceded her in death in 1935. She later married Orville Lutz, who survives.

Mrs. Lutz was a member of the Astoria Evangelical United Brethren Church where she was a member of the Ever Ready Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Vermont.

Other survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Fanchion Bader of Browning and Mrs. Fern Goforth of Palmdale, Calif.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs. Chlela Fuhrer of Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Lorraine Davis of Chicago. Two sisters and one brother preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Russell Fry of the E.U.B. Church officiating. Burial will be in the Astoria Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Shawgo Memorial Home.
