Funeral services for Mrs. Lorraine M. Davis, 86, of Belleville, formerly of Astoria, were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. The Rev. Richard VanHoosen officiated and burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Davis died at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, in St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville.
Mrs. Davis was born Oct. 24, 1881, in Fulton County, the daughter of Preston and Augusta Hughes Prather.
She lived in the Astoria area most of her life and was a member of the Astoria Evangelical United Brethren Church. She was married to Lemuel A. Davis on Nov. 4, 1904. He died May 5, 1958.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Dolla Robertson of Belleville; one son, Russell H. Davis of Chicago; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Clela, of California. One son, one daughter, one brother, and three sisters are deceased.
