Browning Man Dies Thursday In Hospital

Allie Lane of Browning, died at 2:15 o’clock Thursday morning at Schmitt Memorial hospital, Beardstown, where he has been a patient since Sunday, December 17.

Allie Lane, son of Janette and Adrian Lane, was born April 8, 1881 in Schuyler county. He was aged 69 years, 8 months and 13 days.

He was united in marriage on April 22, 1909 to Miss Nina Harris, who survives. To this union three children were born, all of whom survive. They are Mrs. Frank Weishaar and Mrs. Homer Cox of Browning, and Carlyle Lane of Beardstown. Five grandchildren also survive. One brother, Floyd Lane of Browning; and three sisters, Mrs. Benjamin McCombs and Mrs. Harry Nelson of Browning, and Mrs. Ralph Kirkbride of Blandinsville, survive.

Mr. Lane retired in 1948 from the C. B. & Q. railroad, after 31 years of service as section foreman in the track department.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. E. Thomas at the Methodist church Saturday afternoon. Burial in Browning cemetery.
