Carlyle “Pete” Lane, 81, of Browning, died at 9:20 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 1996, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
He was born Sept. 24, 1914, in Browning, the son of Allie and Nina Harris Lane. He married Nelda Boyd on Aug. 8, 1933, in Virginia, Ill. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Dr. Gary Lane of Cheyenne, Wyo.; two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.
Two sisters preceded him in death.
He retired in 1973 from Burlington Northern Railroad after 36 years. He was a roadmaster for the railroad the past 18 years. He was of the Christian faith.
Graveside services were held Friday at Browning Cemetery with Collis Trone officiating. Arrangements were made by Sager Memorial Home in Beardstown.
