Nancy KnottNancy Jeanette Knott, 75, of Round Lake Beach, formerly of Rushville, died at 10:49 a.m. Jan. 30, 2021, at Journey Care Hospice in Barrington.

She was born Sept. 20, 1945, in Macomb, a daughter of Lloyd Eugene and Lily Mae Eddington Akers. She married Leland Dale “Mike” Knott on March 15, 1964, in Littleton. They were later divorced.

Surviving are one daughter, Catherine (and Donald) Edwards of Volo; one son, Eric Knott of Beardstown; one brother, Hank (and Juanita) Akers of Industry; one sister, Diane (and Allen) Zeeck of Beardstown; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She graduated from Rushville High School with the class of 1963.

While raising her children, she worked at Kozy Korner and the Illinois Glove Company in Beardstown. She was a linotype operator at The Rushville Times for several years before accepting a position with the Secretary of State Driver Services Division. She retired from the Secretary of State after 20 years of service.

She was a member of Rushville Church of Christ, where she was a Boy Scout Den Mother and youth group leader, and later Harvard Park Baptist Church in Springfield, where she volunteered in the children’s and women’s ministries. She volunteered as a seamstress for the Springfield Muni Opera.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Brother Matt Haberman officiating. Burial will follow in Brooklyn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday.
