Lily Mae Daniels, 87, of Beardstown, formerly of Littleton, died at 10:50 a.m. June 8, 2010, at Heritage Manor South in Beardstown.
She was born Friday, Jan. 12, 1923, in Industry Township, McDonough Co., a daughter of Oliver and Myrtle Toland Eddington. She married Harrison B. “Possum” Daniels in 1961 in Rushville. He preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 1979.
Also preceding her in death was four brothers, Cecil (and Mabel) Eddington, Roy Eddington, Bill Eddington and Tom Eddington; and one sister, Francis (and Mick) Maguire.
Surviving are one son, Hank (and Juanita) Akers of Littleton; two daughters, Nancy Knott of Lake Zurich, and Diane (and Allen) Zeeck of Beardstown; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She worked as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb until retiring in 1985.
She attended Littleton United Methodist Church.
Services were held Friday at Worthington Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Courson officiating. Burial followed in Brooklyn Cemetery.
