Leland "Mike" KnottLeland Dale “Mike” Knott, 74, of Beardstown died at 3:22 a.m. Sept. 9, 2017, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born March 24, 1943, in Rushville, a son of Darrel Custer and Ura Vivian Dunn Knott. He married Cathy Sue Rausch on Nov. 15, 1986. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Catherine (and Don) Edwards of Lake Zurich and Sierra Knott of Beardstown; one son, Eric Knott of Beardstown; one stepdaughter, Miranda Casson of Beardstown; one stepson, Mark Lockman of White Hall; one brother, Marvin Keith (and Linda) Knott of Kankakee; and eight grandchildren.

He was a graduate of Rushville High School. He began his career as an auto mechanic completing vocational training with the Pontiac Division of GM in 1962 and taking courses at Spoon River College in Canton while working for Tribbey Implement. He was an auto body repairman for Alters Buick Oldsmobile for nearly 25 years until his “retirement”.

In 2010, he started River Valley Productions running sound and lights for many up and coming bands with his son, Eric and grandson Trevor Knott.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor Matt Haberman officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
