He was born Aug. 16, 1924, in Vermont, a son of Zeb Frederick and Maude Marie Cruiser Kost. He married Doris Jeanette Brockley on June 16, 1946, in Vermont. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, John (and Cecilia) Kost of Vermont; one daughter, Dianne Crile of Daytona Beach, Fla.; one twin sister, Carmen (and Thomas) Ashwood of Vermont; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Stephen Kost.
He was a lifelong farmer in the Vermont area.
He was a member of Vermont Christian Church and South Fulton Antique Tractor Club. He was a former member of VIT Board of Education.
Services were held Sunday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Tim Gilliland officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded with inurnment at a later date.
