Stephen D. Kost, 79, of Lincoln, Neb., formerly of Vermont, died at 9:30 p.m. Monday, June 29, 1998, at Lincoln General Hospital in Lincoln, Neb.

He was born Oct. 3, 1918, in Vermont, a son of Zeb F. and Maude M. Cruiser Kost.

Surviving are one daughter, Stephanie Graham of Mahomet; one brother, Carroll, and one sister, Carmen Ashwood, both of rural Vermont; and two grandchildren.

He served in the Air Force for 26 years in Germany, England and Spain. He was a lieutenant colonel command pilot and communications electronics officer. He was a 52-year member of the Vermont Christian Church and served with Christian missionaries since 1974.

Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Vermont Cemetery with Rev. Tim Gilliland officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services at Kost Memorial Home, Vermont.
