John Ross Kukla, 23, of Washington, Mo., died July 18, 2010, in Washington, Mo.
He was born April 1, 1987, in San Luis Obispo, Calif., a son of John Kukla Jr. and Candace Mayall Kukla.
Surviving are his parents, John and Candace Kukla (Jack and Jill) of Carthage; one brother, Steven Kukla of Carthage; paternal grandmother, “Granny” Wanda Wear of Carthage; and maternal grandfather, “Gramps” Willis Mayall of Union, Mo.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Natasha Jacqueline Kukla; paternal grandfather, Ed Wear; and maternal grandmother, Margaret Mayall.
He lived most of his childhood in Oregon and moved to Missouri when he was a teen. He attended Union High School and continued his education at St. Louis University.
He started his construction career with S/K Contractors in Washington. He was a skilled tile setter. He was a supervisor for Elite Contractors.
A celebration of John’s life will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, at First Presbyterian Church, Fellowship Hall, located at 321 E. Main St. in Carthage. A light meal will be served following the celebration.
