Mary Johnson

Mary K. Johnson, 91, of Astoria, died at 9:45 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 1998, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

She was born July 2, 1906, in Lincoln, Mo., a daughter of John and Ida Grace Miller Short. She married Dwight Johnson on Feb. 9, 1927, in Macomb. He died Dec. 29, 1989. Also preceding her in death were one daughter, Marva Lee Wherley; six brothers; and two sisters.

Surviving are one son, Larry W. Johnson of Pekin; one daughter, Pat Nelson of Vermont; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She was a member of Vermont Christian Church, Home Bureau, and Past Matron of the Industry O.E.S.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Harris Cemetery in Table Grove with Rev. Tim Gilliland officiating. Friends may call at the Kost Memorial Home after 9 am. Friday until time of service.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
