She was born Oct. 5, 1927, in Astoria, a daughter of Keith “Buck” and Mary Carter Danner. She married Merle Gene Heaton on March 23, 1946, in Astoria. He preceded her in death.
She also was preceded in death two sisters, Nancy and Kay Danner; and three brothers, Rodney, Ronald and Carter Danner.
Surviving are three sons, Philip Gene (and Cindy) Heaton of Ozark, Mo., Jeffrey Scott (and Candy) Heaton of Rushville and Kenton Lee (and Sherry) Heaton of Vermont; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The couple raised their children outside of Ipava and moved to Vermont later on.
She was a long time member of Vermont Methodist Church and the Spoon River Drive.
A private burial will be held at a later date. Shawgo Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
