Royal HaleRoyal Lee Hale, 72, of Rushville died at 10:35 a.m. Aug. 24, 2021, at his residence.

He was born Sept. 24, 1948, in Rushville, a son of Vail Harold and Laura Elouise Forsythe Hale. He married Holly Gaye Anderson on Jan. 13, 1971, in Orange, Texas. She preceded him in death on Feb. 12, 2017.

He also was preceded in death by one infant son, Corey Vail Hale; and one brother, Mark Hale.

Surviving are three sons, John (and Angie) Hale of Littleton, Kelly (and Lori) Hale of Hanover Park and Chad Hale of Fla.; two sisters, Judy (and Keith) Hale of Browning and Marilyn (and Ed) Davis of Rockport; one brother, Roger (and Janet) Hale of Beardstown; and three grandchildren.

He was a Vietnam veteran serving from 1968-71. He worked at Schuyler-Brown FS for over 40 years. He was an active member of Assembly of God Church.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. John Keck officiating. Burial was in Hughes Cemetery west of Rushville with Schuyler American Legion Post #4 and a U.S. Navy Honor Detail.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
