Laura HaleLaura Elouise Hale, 88, of Rushville died at 1:20 a.m. March 24, 2009, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital.

She was born Nov. 6, 1920, in Mount Sterling Township, Brown County, a daughter of Charles and Eva Armstrong Forsythe. She married Vail Harold Hale on Jan. 3, 1940, in Palmyra, Mo. He died Nov. 13, 1992.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Mark Hale; one grandson, Corey Hale; one great-granddaughter, Haley Reedy; six brothers, Robert, Eugene, Richard, Thomas, Harold and John Forsythe; and three sisters, Irene Krupp, Anna Louise Forsythe and Donna Jean Forsythe.

Surviving are two daughters, Judy (and Keith) Hamm of Browning and Marilyn (and Ed) Davis of Rockport; two sons, Roger (and Janet) Hale of Beardstown and Royal (and Holly) Hale of Rushville; one brother, James (and Shirley) Forsythe of Lakeland, Fla.; one sister, Ellen Underwood of Springfield; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Rushville Church of Christ “Christian,” Schuyler Senior Citizens Center Sewing Club, Buena Vista Mothers Club and volunteered at Schuyler Jail Museum and Genealogical Center.

Services were held Friday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Mike Cahill officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery.
