Steven HesterSteven Scott Hester, 58, of Nashville, Tenn., died at 7:43 p.m. Aug. 11, 2021, at Hendersonville Medical Center in Hendersonville, Tenn., surrounded by his children.

He was born Sept. 3, 1962, in Park Ridge, a son of Charles Scott Hester and Lorraine Dee Carter.

Surviving are two daughters, Kayla Hester of Houston, Texas, and Karli (and Justin) Payne of Macomb; one son, Colton Hester of Nashville, Tenn.; one sister, Debbie Hester of Rushville; one half sister, Judith Lacy of Missouri; one half brother, Donald Litwicki of California; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Scott Hester; one grandchild, Sebastian Payne; aunt & uncle, Harold and Mary Beth Greene, who raised him.

He was a 1980 graduate of Southeastern High School. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving from 1988-94.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Dave Hester and Lt. Colonel Jeremie Hester officiating. Burial will follow in Huntsville Cemetery with Military Honors by Schuyler American Legion Post #4 and a U.S. Air Force Honors Detail. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to his grandchildren’s education fund.
