NINA C. (COLEMAN) HAMMOND

Nina Hammond

Nina C. Hammond, 96, of Lewistown, died at 5 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at Prairieview Care Center, where she was a resident.

She was born Feb. 5, 1906, in Ipava, a daughter of James O. and Tillie Burglund Coleman. She married Floyd G. Hammond on April 2, 1938, in Rushville. He died July 30, 1996.

She also was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.

Surviving are a sister-in-law, Doris Nelson of Lewistown; and several nieces and nephews.

A member of the Retired Teachers Assn., she was a high school English teacher for more than 40 years, teaching in Lewistown and Clayton.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Lewistown and Order of the Eastern Star.

A memorial service was held Friday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Rev. Robert Holler officiating. Cremation was accorded and inurnment was in Ipava Mausoleum in Ipava.

Memorials may be made to the Prairieview Care Center activity department or her church.
