Jack D. Husted, 68, of Astoria, died at noon Thursday, Oct. 22, 1998, at Prairieview Care Center in Lewistown.

He was born April 30, 1930, in Canton, a son of Guy and Violet Wilson Husted. He married Frances Schaad on Feb. 21, 1953, in Havana. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Kenneth of Mount Sterling; one stepson, David Schaad of Springfield; one stepdaughter, Mary Suter of Gerard; two grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; one great-grandson; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

One brother and one sister preceded him in death.

He served with the Army National Guard. He worked for Astoria Fiber-Steel for 19 years, L&N Industries in Rushville and also was a farmer. He was a member of American Legion Post 25.

Services were held Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Greg Parker officiating. Burial was in Mason City Cemetery in Mason City.

Memorials may be made to Browning Christian Church or St. Jude Midwest Affiliate in Peoria.
