Joyce Selvaggio Dies At Age 53

Mrs. Marilyn Joyce Selvaggio, 53, of 813 E. Miller, Springfield, formerly of Astoria, died at 4 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 1990, at St. John’s Hospital Hospice in Springfield.

She was born March 13, 1936, in Fulton County, a daughter of Guy and Violet (Wilson) Husted. On July 18, 1964, she was married to Jasper Selvaggio in Springfield. He survives.

Also surviving are her mother, Violet Husted, of Astoria; four daughters, Andrea Selvaggio of Normal, Teresa, Janese and Marcelle Selvaggio, of Springfield; and one brother, Jack Husted of Astoria.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Husted in 1965, and her father, Guy Husted in 1974.

She was an LPN at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, including five years of service at St. John’s Hospice. She was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Springfield and the Church Choir. She was a member of the Springfield Civic Garden Club and the Women’s Auxiliary of Roman Culture Society.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday evening at Ellinger-Kunz-Davis Funeral Home in Springfield. Prayers will be Thursday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral Mass will be on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter and Paul Church with Father Frank J. O’Hara officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Springfield.

Friends wishing to contribute to a Memorial may do so in her honor to the National Cancer Institute in Frederick, Md.
