Jeffery E. Hunter, 31, of Rushville, died at 12:10 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 1996.

He was born July 10, 1965, in Macomb, a son of Kenneth and Phyllis K. Parry Hunter. He married Belinda Pate on March 12, 1983 in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Jeffery E. Hunter II and one daughter, KayLee Dawn Hunter, both at home; his mother and stepfather, Phyllis and Michael Bernius of Vermont; his father of Lake in the Ozarks, Mo.; three brothers, Bradley Hunter and Scott Parry, both of Vermont, and Troy Hunter of Ipava; two sisters, Ketra Lundeen of Lakenheath, England, and Misty Thomas of Vermont; five stepsisters, Nikki Bernius of Bushnell, and Angela Owens, Rhonda Bernius, Danielle Bernius and Rochelle Bernius, all of Peoria; and grandmother, Doris Parry of Vermont.

He served in the Army from 1983 to 1994. He served in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He was an electrician at Tenaco Chemical Co. in Jacksonville.

Funeral services were held Sunday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Michael Rumler officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery, where military rites were conducted by the Schuyler American Legion Post #4.

Memorials may be made to an education fund for his children in care of Rushville State Bank, Box 50, Rushville, Ill. 62681.
