Verna Hoffman Of Manito Dies

Verna Hoffman, 63, of Manito died at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, 1990, at her residence.

She was born July 20, 1926, in Ipava, a daughter of George W. and Amelia J. White Brown. She married Gaylen Thompson on March 7, 1941, in Palmyra, Mo. He died Feb. 24, 1965. She later married Harold Hoffman on Nov. 30, 1974, in Manito. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Patricia Harris of Havana; five sons, Gary Thompson, Kenneth Thompson and George Thompson, all of Pekin, Ronnie Thompson of Sparland and Michael Thompson of Manito; one sister, Mary Malott of Canton; two brothers, Roger Brown of Coatsburg and Garold Brown of Cuba; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Manito.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Maas Funeral Home in Manito, with Rev. Larry Gouvela officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito.

MANITO — Verna Thompson Hoffman, 63, of 304 S. Pollard, died at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, 1990, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Maas Funeral Home. The Rev. Larry Gouveia will officiate. Burial will be in the Meadow Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Forman Ambulance.
