Mrs. Virginia Hoke Dies Thursday In Havana Nursing Home

Mrs. Virginia E. (Jennie) Hoke, 80, died early Thursday in the Havana Nursing Home, where she had been residing for six and one-half weeks.

Mrs. Hoke was born on Sept. 5, 1879, in Illinois, a daughter of James and Amanda Elliott Onion. She was married on Dec. 28, 1902 to Samuel Hoke who preceded her in death on Jan. 7, 1952.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Skiles of Ipava and Miss Evelyn Hoke of Peoria, and one son, Gilbert Hoke of Canton, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Ten brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon in the E. U. B. Church with the Rev. J. E. Sibert and Rev. J. H. Ruberg officiating. Burial was in the Astoria cemetery.
