Enid Lenoire Gibble, 90, of Knoxville, formerly of Macomb, died at 3:20 a.m. Oct. 7, 2013, at Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville.
She was born Sept. 8, 1923, in Schuyler County, a daughter of Ervin G. and Faye Walters. She married Russell William Gibble on May 10, 1944, in Kansas City, Mo. He passed away in 2004.
She also was preceded in death by one sister, Darlene Yost; nephews, Stephan Yost and Brian and Norman Hartman; and niece, Loeola Hartman.
Surviving are one daughter, Roberta (Wyman) Whipple of Dahinda; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She lived her early life in Bader and most of her married life in Macomb. She graduated from Astoria High School and Western Illinois Teacher’s College. She taught in a one-room school for several years, helped operate Gibble Produce and worked for 33 years as a sales associate and stockroom manager for J.C. Penney.
Private graveside services will be held at Astoria Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Thursday at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb.
