Maxine Hankins Gain, 88, of Pompano Beach, Fla., formerly of Astoria, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at her home.
She was born Feb. 10, 1914, in Astoria, a daughter of Jonas E. and Ella Shields Mummert. She married Earl Hankins. He died Sept. 28, 1975.
She later married Raymond Gain on Feb. 29, 1980, in Pompano Beach. He survives.
Also surviving are three nephews, Robert Mummert of Astoria, Jon Mummert of Browning and Jim Mummert of Riverside, Calif.
She was a homemaker.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Astoria Cemetery with Gary Sheets officiating. There will be no visitation. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Astoria Fire and Rescue Squad.
